Washington, D.C.- President Trump announced a bipartisan effort to put guns back in the hands of law-abiding citizens.
“Gun buyback programs are expensive! In order to pay for them, I’ve devised a great plan, truly great,” wrote the President on Twitter. “We are going to buyback guns for $150, then turn around and sell them for $250. It’s gonna be huge!”

The measure seems to have bipartisan support, with liberals championing
Senator Richard Shelby (R-AL) sponsored the bill in the Senate. He said he is happy to see the bill garner so much support. Senator Shelby released a statement today that read in part, “I’m thankful for my liberal colleagues who are prepared to take guns out of the hands of their constitutes and return them to the hands of patriots all over the country. We are putting guns where they belong, in the hands of God-fearing Americans. Finally, Americans with less disposable income will be able to protect their families.”
Both houses of Congress are expected to vote on the measure today. The bill could be on the President’s desk as early as tonight. President Trump plans to sign the bill immediately.
